Why do so many people hate this movie?

Wow. I'm really surprised to see all the negative responses Robin Hood has been garnering from critics and audiences alike. While I'll admit that it isn't a perfect film, let alone of Ridley Scott's best, it is a very fun action/adventure film and easily the best Robin Hood adaptation to date(WAY better than that god awful Kevin Costner piece of crap).
Though I'll admit, I can understand why some wouldn't like the movie. If you're a hardcore Robin Hood fan, an expert on the history of the legend, and a key historian, this movie is NOT for you. I believe its kinda similar to recent reimaginings like Sherlock Holmes or Star Trek. Though the film isn't as good as Star Trek but better than Sherlock Holmes, it is definitly entertaining and, to quote Peter Travers of Rolling Stone, "What this Robin Hood lacks in fun it makes up for in epic sweep."
