Chalk this up to another in the string of Eddie Murphy duds. Here, Murphy sleepwalks through a mostly joyless role, going through the motions in a mess of a leaky plot. There are, it should be said, a handful of redeeming scenes that would be meaningful in a better movie, but the bulk is both stupid and unfunny.
