Hall Pass
Disappointing

Hall Pass is more disappointing proof that the Farrellys are little more than one hit wonders (two if you count Something About Mary, I suppose.) The film takes a potentially funny concept and then drains the humor out by going for obvious jokes and painfully grossout humor that feels ultimately empty. None of the main actors have the same feeling of realistic camraderie as other R-rated films - such as any films from the Apatow universe, for instance - and this also hurts the film's emotional heart. Some funny lines and throwaway moments, but ultimately kind of boring.
