Fletch

The main reason this film works is because of the comic genius and timing of Chevy Chase. The plot itself is rather thin and some of the one-liners could have come across as corny in a lesser comic actor's mouth. Fletch has the perfect blend of 80's movie nostalgia and a subversively witty screenplay.
