Reefer Madness ( Tell Your Children )
A stupid propaganda film from the 30's
2/4 stars

This film is the original propaganda film that turned the government against marijuana. The interesting thing about this film is that it was referenced when the bill against pot use was introduced to the USA. The film was commissioned by the liquor industry and it is probably one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

*****Spoiler Alert*****
What makes it funny is the fact that the main character goes psychotic after smoking weed and kills his whole family with an ax.
Yep the liquor commission didn't want anyone taking away from their profits, the lumber industry didn't want another industry that could compete with them at the paper mills, and the govt couldn't make that much money on the tax they had imposed upon it. So this was the result. Smoke weed and you will go insane.

*****End Spoilers*****

While I realize this isn't much of a review of the film, you have to realize that this film was made to scare people into preventing them from smoking pot. It takes itself way too seriously, and it comes off as being goofy.
