Apocalypse Now

In my opinion, the best war movie that's ever been made. Apocalypse Now is about Captain Willard, who is sent on special assignment to kill Colonel Kurtz, who has gone rogue and now commands troops at his will and is worshiped like a pagan god. Willard is to terminate his command...with extreme prejudice. It is a war movie, but it focuses more on the psyche of war and what it can do to people. Robert Duvall was nominated for an Academy award with his portrayal of Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore, a footloose commander who gives the famous "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" speech. Worth the watch.
