This, along with Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust, are the gems in the cult classic grindhouse cannibal genre. If you exploitations classics, you can't go wrong, though ferox (like Cannibal Holocaust) does kill actual animals on screen (both feature turtles too) and that makes me more squeamish than the gore. I always seek out these kind of cult classics - the more gruesome the better - just to see what all the fuss is about. It's hard to call this a "good" movie - but for what it's trying to accomplish, it does its job admirably.
