The Titanic was known as The Ship of Dreams by many, but Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) just thought of it as another ship to America. Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), however, thought of it as his ship home, that is until meeting Rose. Their story of love and loss set on board one of the most horrific and embarrassing moments in history is fictionally accounted in the Best Picture winning film, "Titanic."

What can I say about the most successful film ever made? A worldwide total gross of $1.85 million. Eleven Oscars from fourteen nominations. The only thing it didn’t succeed at in my personal opinion is being a credible love story, but I shall expand on this.

“Titanic” is an amazing film. The visuals are absolutely stunning, the music is top-notch, and the history is very accurate. I only wish writer/director James Cameron had been able to come up with a better way of playing out a love story than stretching it over three hours when it could have fit in half the time.

In the past I’ve given this film a bad rep, I won’t deny it. I believe it does deserve more credit than I normally give it. However, there are too many problems with writing and acting (DiCaprio has grown so much as an actor since) to give this film a higher score than I have given.

Acting: 7/10
Writing: 8/10
Video/Editing: 10/10
Audio/Music: 9/10
Entertainment: 8/10

Final Score: 8.4/10
