The A-Team

Good remake of an awesome 80's TV Series..

I finally got the chance to see this movie yesterday, and it was awesome. I always worry when they try to remake a classic TV series, because most of the time they come out terrible. However, these guys did a great job. Quinton Jackson and Sharlto Copley especially nailed B.A. and Murdock perfectly. Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper did good jobs as Hannibal and Face, but there was a little something missing. For Hannibal, I thought he could have shown a little more personality, or as they used to call it on the series, "the jazz." I thought their Face needed to be more laid back. Cooper was too rock "n" roll when he should have been more easy listening. They also needed to emphasize him being a con artist more. I did love the scene after the credits with Cooper and Dirk Benedict and Copley and Dwight Schultz. Mr. T fussed about their being sex and violence. I didn't see any sex in the movie, and while yes there killings, they were done mainly by the bad guys. The A-Team members did shoot people, but they never showed whether those guys died or not. He also ignores a subplot about them not wanting to kill anymore or see any more bloodshed. The movie has a good story, and lots of action. While I wouldn't recommend for kids, I would definitely recommend it for adults who were fans of the original show. Unlike the Dukes of Hazzard remake, they treated the characters with respect, and unlike the G.I. Joe movie, they didn't alter too many of the details from the original series. I would love to see a sequel, but thus far the box office totals seem to suggest there probably won't be.
