I skipped this in my ranking...so before I get to my top 25 I have to go back and put this one in.......I love this movie.......it isn't scary- but I am seldom scared anyway......what I like about the movie is the direction (masterfully done by Francis Ford Coppola), the cinematography, Makeup, Costumes and the cast (minus Keanu Reeves) and above all is the gripping performance by Gary Oldman as Dracula. Just like he is in every role he takes on, Oldman is brilliant and brings such a unique turn as the blood thirsty villain- it sucks you in immediately in every scene of his. Winona Ryder is serviceable as the love interest and Cary Elwes, Tom Waits and Sadie Frost offer support in the movie and offset the easily forgettable Reeves. Anthony Hopkins adds grit and humor as the sarcastic professor determined to hunt the creature down. A must see in my opinion and it ranks #37 on my list.....
