Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

It is not the show, but it is still very good...

This is being written directly after first viewing. I've seen the entire series before-hand, and yes, it's true it doesn't have the essence or feeling of the show and it is extremely dark and disturbing (easily of the most disturbing movies done by Lynch...and that's saying something) but it kind of has to have that feeling because it's showing the audience a world we have never been apart of...the secret world of Laura Palmer and her last days of being alive. It really shouldn't have the quirkiness or shy away from the more unsettling elements. All the characters that we are so familiar with seem distant and almost out of place, (with the exception of Laura, but we've never really met her before in the first place) but I think it's because we're only seeing them through one characters perspective. It's an extremely brutal and unbelievably hypnotizing film, and I think for the people who can handle it, it's essential to see if you are a fan of the series.
