The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Fun with Dwarves

I found the movie to be exceptionally well done. I loved Martin Freeman as Bilbo, just a fanatic casting choice. He has the right feel of average and extraordinary. This was always my favorite of the books, may be because I love dwarves, and I feel they did a great job with it. I personally like that they are taking their time telling the story, but I could see that being an issue with less devoted fans. The Hobbit is funnier and lighter than the Lord of the Rings, but that is something I've always liked about it. I hope people with stick with the story, which is one of the great straight adventure stories. On a technical note they did a fantastic job getting all the heights to be right in every single scene. It is really very remarkable. Can't wait for more dwarves!
