The Pursuit of Happyness is a sad but hallow movie based of actual events. The movie starts off good but then dwindles in the middle and goes downhill from there, making the results tepid at best. It is well directed but sloppily written. Will Smith gives a very good performance and his real-life son Jaden is good as well. The problem with the movie is that it seems to be telling the story only to get tears and not to tell this wonderful true story. By showing every one of the characters sad moments and not enough of his happy moments, which defeats the purpose of the movies title. I liked this movie because it is touching, but it's obvious that Will Smith's performance is better then the film itself.
