Mission: Impossible II
Mission: Improbable Too!
1.5/4 stars
This film took everything that made the television series interesting and tossed it in the trash. Instead of relying on a clever plot with the twists, turns, and suspense of double-and triple-agents, John Woo resorts to action sequences that have no basis in reality, and those stupid masks. The fact that this one made the most money of the three films is a sad statement about today's film audiences.
The film also earned a SmokeScreeners rating of 3 Butts (http://tinyurl.com/qarw7q). There are two prominent scenes involving tobacco. The first occurs when the villain (Dougray Scott) punishes his number-one man (Richard Roxburgh) by snipping his finger with a cigar cutter. The other takes place when the owner of a pharmaceutical company (Brendan Gleeson) is seen smoking in his limousine."
