Predictable but there are some good laughs.
The lastest manufactured romantic comedy for the holiday starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn as a couple whose trip to Fiji is canceled are forced and struggle to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas Day.
Vaughn's semi-professional ultimate fighting brothers are played by country singer-turned movie star Tim McGraw and best friend Jon Favreau, who provides the films few laughs. more awkward moments of family embarrassment follow through visitng houses 2, 3, & 4. Vince Vaughn is funny but not reallly acting. He just being Vince Vaughn. I liked the character . Ithink Vince Vaghn fans will like this movie. Witherspoon, however looks like she can't keep up with his improve and comic timing. I just though she wasn't the right choice for this movie. i sometimes during the movie never really felt their chemistry onscreen. After all the gags and silly one-liners, their relationship is the core of this movie and it's just not there.
I expected alittle more from a movie four academy Award winning actors - Witherspoon, Jon Voight, robert Duvall, Mary Steenburgen and Sissy Spacey. I know this isn't gonna win a osacr but I wanted to see a good romantic comedy and this just didnt make it.
One line from Robert Duvall that tells the story that this movie is fairly funny, at least in parts was when he says " I don't want to speak ill of your mother on christmas, but your mother is a common street whore." Any movie with this line is alright with me , but again didn't really cross the line of me loving this movie, but there are moments of true comedy there.
