High School Musical

I really wanted to see what exactly this was like with so many 13-16 year olds raving about it. Unfortunately I totally went against all the hype and how supposedly wonderful this is. It is just not as great as everyone says. For a start, the film is a parody to Grease with almost every scene the same. We also see similar characters; guy and a girl from two different backgrounds who met outside of school and what a surprise they meet at a high school! The girl just has to be the "brainy one as well". For god sakes, I knew exactly what was coming and what was coming next.

The plot just is not original, like I said before you now what is coming next and what every character will do. For instance, you have the character of Sharpey, and her brother who, from the beginning, were obviously meant to sabotage something and cause trouble. I mean Ashley Tisdale is truly awful as is the guy, who ever he was, and who played her brother. The awful acing does not stop there; Zac Efrom cannot act and does not seem to posses any personality at all. Perhaps he was portraying himself? I have to say, the performance of Vanessa Anne Hudgens was the best in the film. I really was interested in every scene that she is in. She clearly has some acting talent and I hope we see her doing something other than this awful film.

I would expect that the choreography would get some awards, as it was the highlight of the film. The singing was awful, except for Vanessa Anne Hudgens who clearly could sing. The writing was awful; the writers seemed to have copied every thing from Grease. Please, do not see this rubbish if you have to. The cheesiness of it all will make you throw up... and again... and possible a few more times.
