Welcome to the Opportunity for a Potential Remake

Will Smith is remaking this movie as "Welcome to the Sticks". In fact all the elements are in place for Hollywood to want to remake this: it set box office records in France (even outgrossing Titanic), it's a situational comedy that is actually funny, and the script is setup properly for it to payoff properly. Dany Boon wrote, directed, co-stars in this movie where practically anywhere in France is considered France except "The North". In America, some people may feel this way about "The South".

The main difference between the North and everywhere else is the strange way they talk. Not only are their "S" sounds more like "Ch" sounds, but they have invented words that mean nothing to the rest of the universe.

When a stranger first arrives to this strange universe, he is befuddled but quickly adapts to the backward way of things. In the middle of the film, his new friends pull a gag to help him cover his tracks. I was laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath for a few seconds. That has never happened before, and frankly, I hope it never happens again. But the point is, it was quite a funny movie.
