Probably a male, teenage geek fantasy? Dorky scientist girls don't usually switch over to hot sex objects in like 3 seconds. Plus the monster guy was gross. A lot of cool ideas, but it pandered to the most basic desires to boys who had not experienced the world. Life is just not like that and it is insulting to women in the universe. Gross...... no wonder your girlfriend won't watch horror movies with you, if you're a pervert and sexist.
