Unfortunately this film revels in sadness. I'm not sure if it's brave for a straight man to play a gay man anymore. A boring film is a boring film. After seeing this film, I saw its trailer while seeing another film. I can't imagine all the acclaim around Colin Firth and Julianne Moore. I actually cracked up when they called this "a role of a lifetime" for Firth. I think that was Mr. Darcy in the Pride & Prejudice mini-series. Sorry!
