Crash (2005)

Great the first time, but not so much the next...

When I first watched this film, I really thought this was a masterpiece, but I recently rewatched it and I'm not so convinced anymore. The movie is very interesting and even enjoyable, but it lacks actual characters. None of the characters are actually filled out enough to where I feel for the person as an individual. I feel for this person because of his oppression, of his frustration, of her weakness, of his love, of her innocence, but I do not feel for any one person. The movie does well to really tap into emotions, I give credit for that. I definitely think it taps in well, but nothing makes this movie truly memorable. Nothing grabs me and makes me want to watch it over and over again. It's a great film, but it's more like a one-time one-hit wonder. It's not something that will make the charts 10 years from now, it's not a classic and it's not even a decent rewatch.
