Se7en will change the way you see
Se7en works on you. It grates you down and you don't see it coming. It's the kind of film that truly works on you because of how far it actually takes you. Imagine someone slowly creeping up on you, you hear this person, and slightly laugh to yourself because you know you can scare him. You calmly wait for the right moment and you turn around, yelling "Boo!" There's no one there, but you're positive you heard someone you turn back around and look all around you, still no one. You walk just a bit further and you turn your head back and the moment you do he jumps in front of you holding a bat. You nearly piss your pants. That's kind of what se7en does on an emotional and psychological level. I will say this movie is not for people who are easily horrified at the depravity of the human condition. It will seriously bother a lot of people on a lot of levels. I actually think this movie is far better than Fight Club even though I know tons of people will disagree. I think Fincher does this movie much better.
