Pedro Almodovar challenges our conception of right and wrong by creating the character of Benigno (Javier Camara). Even if you don't agree with Benigno's actions, you can't help but like him, and believe that he always has the best interest of his loved one at heart. Pedro's male characters are gentle and sensitive, while his main female characters are in a coma. The music by Alberto Iglesias is perfect.
This film won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2003
