Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

There is a lot to love about the surreal fantasy/nightmare from Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu that is called Birdman. Starting with the pitch perfect performance by the most underrated Michael Keaton. His is a richly layered Oscar worthy performance that slaps this film around like a Mace hitting a brick wall. All of the performers are bringing their "A" game. Directed with a whimsically Hallucinatory flair all add up to what was close to being a great film. Unfortunately a lot of the story felt to tepid and predictable. I always felt like I knew what was going to happen next and wished the story could have held me as tight as the on point Acting and the inspired Directing did.

Still a Solidly intriguing, well crafted movie that falls short of becoming a Masterpiece.
Probably will be more loved by those in the Theatre/Movie world but still an entertaining Movie.
