Neat story, horrible 80's soundtrack

This was one of the coolest movies to watch as a little kid, but the image of this movie is a bit tarnished now that I have seen it as an adult. It isn't a bad film overall, but it was disappointing to me so I am being more harsh than I would be on a newer movie. There are so many things that are ONLY for kids in this movie that it really didn't pass the test of time with me. I think there are much better kids movies that both children and adults can both enjoy.
My advice if you haven’t seen this one as an adult is to stay away and remember the adventure as it was. If you must watch it to see for yourself, maybe have some drinks first -- it could only make it better.

I remember this movie. I thought it was so awesome! We taped it one time then couldn't find it for ever. One year we finally discovered buried some where in our basement and watched it...i think I was 10 and thought it was awesome still.
