Ultimate Avengers

The viewer is burdoned to watch

The Ultimate Avengers have a bevy of interesting characters to choose from and display. Let's face it though, any team with Thor and the Hulk ain't gonna get beat. Added to this mix is the ressurection of Captain America, Ant Man, the Wasp, and others. All of them get screen time and development.

Unfortunately, this scattered development takes center stage and the viewer is burdoned to watch Ant and Wasp quibble, Hulk and Betty quibble, Hulk and his human side quibble, Thor and non-beer-drinking humans quibble, Cap and everyone quibble, and then finally, near the end we get a fight. Also, there are aliens that evidently aided the Nazi's and we don't know why, but, as always, the Hulk beats the crap out of everyone.

My primary grievance is the fact that Marvel insists on focusing on the human side of superheroes and they do not develop personas or relationships well. Thus, one should ask why they are animating an overly dramatic and juvenile melo-drama. Why does it need animation? The only thing that begs of non live-action features is the end battle. Secondly, these are suppossedly the ULTIMATE superheroes, the Justice League or Super Friends of the Marvel Universe, so let them loose and show off what makes them so great Marvel!
