A supposedly celebratory dramatization about wartime heroism by a female spy in the French Resistance instead bogs down into a grim and dour affair. The ending seems almost like a tacted on apology for the sadder aspects of the story. Still, it is a well acted movie. Though Cate Blanchett is the star for this vehicle, and she does fine, the real draw is actually Michael Gambon who does very well here.
