Whimsical if oddly mawkish romance film set against the backdrop of a traveling circus where a young French woman becomes enamored of a magician but is also the object of affection by a jaded puppeteer. The psychological elements of the script are hokey by today's standards and some may find the dynamic more strange than sympathetic. The cast of European actors gives it a nice international touch.
