Frequency

3/4 stars

Father and son are able to talk to each other through a HAM radio despite being separated by 30 years. Through this communication, the father's life is saved, but it comes with a major price. Frequency aims to be a heart-tugging thriller and it pulls this off, for the most part. The story is mostly solid, the characters are interesting, and the actors really bring together this great piece. The dramatic turn in the center of the film, though, is the beginning of the plot unraveling. By the end, pieces seemed jammed together rather than placed and it loses that emotional feel by the time the final montage hits. It could have been an amazing film, but the ending killed it. Still, it's not a waste of time for movie fans.
