Tim Burton offers a brilliant, dark, spectacular envisioning of Stephen Sondheim's brilliantly crafted gothic musical "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." I saw this play on stage, produced for a live stage version, and now its come full circle into an Academy Award-nominated film. Wonderful.
The take is artistic, graphic, and amazing with brilliant lead actors Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Timothy Spall. Oh, the little kid who plays Tobie is great too. See this movie with an open heart, mind, and menacing leer.
