"Wall-E" was by far the best movie of the summer next to "Dark Knight" and "Iron Man." It was getting a bad rap for being "slow" and "environmental," but I thought that added greater depth to the story. Sure, there was little spoken dialogue and most of the film was sight-gags and a classier, sophisticated comedy, but that's the groundbreaking beauty of it. What's so incredible about what Pixar has done, is that they have instilled messages into every picture they've done, but until now, they have been rather stilted and juvenile. This is an actual concern in the world today and it is being brought to the attention of young children in peaceful, hilarious ways. The Autopilot was by the far the scariest Pixar villain to date, and I just may have nightmares, but its all worth it in the end to sit through and see some of the greatest animation and storytelling in history take place.
