Machete kills the squeal but not very well at the box office. This movie was enjoyable but really stupid at times with it's silly action scenes and over the top acting.

I get what you're saying but, of course, the over-the-top action and acting is exactly what the film is about. Much like Tarantino which would explain why he and Rodriguez are friends.
