Being that I had zero expectations and little desire to see this film, I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it turned out. 'Sinister' is not only the most chilling horror film I've seen this year, but it also contains many effective scares that provoked a reaction from me. I actually let out a yell once. Can't remember the last time I ever did that during a movie. The foreboding dark tone, somewhat absence of bloodshed and well crafted shocks, add up to one frightening watch.
