This prequel to 'Malevolence' is much different. Two stories play out simultaneously; the killer's side and the heroine's. The killer's is the more interesting of the two. The heroine's is mostly routine. It builds up to a good climax where both meet a grueling fate. It's moderately violent and bloody nature is presented in the right unsettling manner. The film only suffers from a few fallbacks on cliches and a lack of tension in a couple of crucial scenes. It's another decent effort and worthy prequel, if not only for the fact that it doesn't repeat the first at all.
