The Dark Knight
A Thing of Beauty
3.5/4 stars

Oh yes...it really IS as good as they say.

Christopher Nolan has always been a genius story teller, but he has gone above and beyond with the Batman franchise. Finally someone has proven how ridiculous the whole "Super Hero Genre" thing is and just created a masterpiece film that does all of the amazing characters from an amazing comic book (or BOOKS in this case) justice.

This really is an excellent screenplay, and every actor delivers it well. Using concepts & elements from the most complex, intelligently written books of the Batman universe, so far this series of films is playing out like an opera...Batman Begins being almost entirely "set-up", Dark Knight carries on with constant intriguing action, introducing new conflicts - (that will hopefully be resolved in Nolan's conclusion.) And the whole time maintaining a sense of reality...it's a very unique way to tackle the caped crusader.

It's been said over and over, and it's certainly true - Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar for using every inch of his body in this performance. You simply can't take your eyes off of him, his Joker easily makes the list of best film characters ever.

Something must be said for Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent/Two Face - He played it just as it should have been done.

Of course the amazing make-up, costumes, and color palette make The Dark Knight even more of a delight. (Those vintage clown masks the henchmen wore?? Incredible)

Perfect action sequences, an exciting climax...I'm ready to see it again.

thanks, by the way I also agree with your review.. I noticed that Maggie G. is rarely mentioned in most reviews, maybe because her performance was kind of forgettable don't you think? Mrs. Cruise should have come back for the sequel
