The Invisible

Better than expected

Nick Powell (Justin Chatwin) is just your average, ordinary teenager, until one night when he's brutally attacked by a mysterious assailant and left for dead. With his soul caught between the afterlife and the living world, an invisible Nick must solve the mystery of what happened to him before he becomes fully deceased.

Justin Chatwin, Margarita Levieva, Marcia Gay Harden, and Chris Marquette star in this movie. Chatwin and Levieve givs solid performances in the film. When Chatwin starts to get annoying, Levieva comes in and see's a good amount of screen time, so the balance was good. Everyone else was good, including Marcia Gay Harden, who played Chatwin's depressed mother.

The character development is developed very well in the begining, leading up to Chatwin's near death scene. The symbolisim is also great in this movie, especially Margarita's little beanie hat. The two main characters start out very distant, but by the end of the movie you are convinced that they fall in love, and are almost the same person. Very well done. The parts seen where Chatwin is dead, and is trying to communicate with everyone is very well done.

There were some plot holes in the story. It's never clearly explained how Annie saves Nick's life at the end. She lays beside him and thats it? What happens to Nicks mom? His best friend, did he die? Annies b/f? The plot did move slow at times, but not terribly slow. There's some emo scenes but its necessary.

This was better than i thought it'd be. When you have good character development, likeable characters, and a decent plot, then you got yourself a solid movie.

Cast: Justin Chatwin, Margarita Levieva, Marcia Gay Harden, Chris Marquette

Directed by David S. Goyer (ZigZag)
