Inglourious Basterds (2009)

My Favorite Movie of All Time

This is not the greatest movie ever made, it isn't even Tarantino's greats; but this is my favorite movie of all time. It is the most fun and thrilling movie I have ever seen. Every aspects of this job was perfect and well thought out down to costume design. Pitt was hilarious and brilliant in his role as Lt. Aldo Raine but is heavily overshadowed by one of the best performances I have seen on screen in a long time, given by Christoph Waltz. The sheer brilliance of it all is captivating and exciting. It has a dark comic book goofiness to it, especially with characters Hugo Stiglets and The Bear Jew. The entire theater scene is magnificently done. It was drawn up and executed perfectly.

--Spoiler-- When the massacre began in the theatre with the screaming, the burning, the laughter of Laurent's character, the complete annihilation of the faux Nazis; I began hysterically and uncontrollably laughing at such a brutal scene. The movie had me so wrapped up and in one swoop, unraveled into a marvelous piece of violence and death.

--Spoiler-- Hitler in the movie was a fantastic and believable caricature that had me in stitches every time he appeared on screen; never being funnier than when his face was torn to bits by the Basterds in a psychotic scene of awesomeness.

This movie should and will go down in history. Tarantino rewrites the history books into a hilarious and dark piece of action thriller.
