Texas Chainsaw 3D

Good flick however longing for the 2003 storyline!

Being an avid horror genre fan, I have pretty much seen em' all... That includes each and every one that carries The Texas Chainsaw Massacre moniker. Found part one to be sort of a letdown as to how many individuals i know that told me how scary it was, and then seeing it i found it more of the macabre then anything. Texas 2 was next in line and that was hilarious more than anything..'Bubba you burnt my plate, you hog bitch!!!' still remains as one of my all time movie sayings. Forgettting all the rest up until The Texas Chainsaw reboot as they just quite plainly ... sucked. The reboot trailer once again brought back my interest in this crazy franchise as along casting Jessica Biel, the director cast a great bunch of nobodys which i felt would put some spark in this franchise, and it did.

Both of the 2003 reboot and the prequel 'Texas chainsaw massacre: The Beginnings were phenemonal and couldn't wait for the so-called next installment... Well after a long waiting period we get delivered 'Texas Chainsaw 3D' Nothing at all to do with the remake/prequel storylines of a disfunctional family, instead , director John Luessenhop gives us what it seems to be a sequel to the very first TCM film with the film starting right after the events of the Hooper film. Not that this was a bad thing however a little confusing but quickly cleared as the movie progresses. Great to see the actor who portrayed the original Leatherface Gunnar Hansen in a short cameo as one of the Sawyer clan as well as Marilyn Burns who portrayed Sally Hardesty also in the original.

I found 'TCM 3D' to be a cool twist in the TCM franchise however am still longing for the continuation of The Hewitt family although now that this one is out, labelling Leatherface with a new surname. dont think it will ever happen. Anyhow the next edition to this long running franchise should be interesting none the less if they keep the current storyline going.
