a true story thats innacurate but great acting

The apparently true story of alan turning who broke the german enigma code during ww2 which led to the apparent shortening of the war.
the movie focuses on his joing bletchley park where in top secret he along with a small group of puzzle breakers attempt to break the code. with flashbacks to his school days and his love for his male friend.which eventually as a adult leads to him being outed as gay.
The movie is decent the acting by benedict cumberlbatch is brilliant he does deserve awards no doubt about it.
the main issue i hae though with this movie which stops it being great is a lot of it simply isn't true.
characters are made up situations are dramatised , and the breaking of the code isnt accurate
if your going to do a movie on a historic event it needs to be as true as you can get it not made up
that for me stops it getting 4 stars.
also while cumberbatch and is great he is really carrying this movie. the rest of the cast just dont gel they feel like outsiders to a scene there's just not a lot of depth.
also the movie goes of and focues on him being gay and becomes a different theme which is fine but they dont explore any feelings or situations or anything. simple he is he got married suddenly theres talk of lawyers and medication then it ends. where is the the story to get to that point , its all too sparse.
all we realy know of the man is he was gay he is was extremely smart and socially very awkward and unaware of how to communicate in the normal manner. all we really know what he done was build a machine break the code get married and apparenly pay a man for sex. thats not a lot for a 2 hour movie.
great acting good film but inaccurate and flawed about a time and important even .
3 stars - 5 plus for bens acting.
