The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement

Romantic Comedy

This movie builds on the first 'Princess Diaries' movie, where Mia (Anna Hathaway) finds out that as granddaughter of the Queen (Julie Andrews) she is next in line to being Ruler of the fictitious country Genovia. However there is opposition to her becoming Queen, led by Viscount Mabrey (John Rhys-Davies). Seems the law of the land prevents an unwedded Princess from becoming Queen, so Mia is obligated to get married in 30 days or she has to forfeit the crown.

Meanwhile Viscount Mabrey has a nephew Nicholas (played by eye candy Chris Pine) who is next in line to the Crown.

Unfortunately the princess falls in love with him...(or fortunately??) Will She or he abdicate for love in the end ...or will she obliged to a 'duty' marriage to the handsome and cultured Andrew, even though there is no "spark" between them in order to save the throne???? Watch and you shall find out.
Hector Elizondo (Pretty Woman) is his always-cool self in the role of the Queen's security advisor, and Julie Andrews is amazing Mia’s grandmother.

A cute, sweet, clean, little romantic comedy! Perhaps "fluff" as some would say but a little fluff from time to time never hurt anyone...
