Jim Carrey plays Dick Harper, who has a tough job and has a wonderful family that includes his beautiful wife, Jane Harper (Téa Leoni), Billy Harper, their son and Spanish housekeeper, Blanca. Dick works at Globodyne, a multi-billion dollar corporation, and it all seems perfect when he finally receives the promotion to Vice Presidency, so he will make enough money for Jane to be a house wife. But then the unimaginable happens; the day after Dick's promotion, the company belly flops and is bankrupt. Hundreds of employees have lost their job, and things are really looking bleak for Dick, and they were about to get worse, for Jane had taken Dick's advice and quit her job as a travel agent.

Now they have no money, and the bank is about to reprocess their house! They soon realize that the president of the company, sleazy Jack McCallister (Alec Baldwin), is behind the company folding. Alec Baldwin gave an okay performance as the rich and careless executive, living in luxury while the rest of the employees are jobless and without fake lawn grasses in front of their houses. Dick and Jane are forced to sell all of their belongings, and accept low paying and embarrassing jobs. That is, until Dick has an idea: If stealing was good enough for his boss, then it's good enough for him. Using his newfound skills, he and Jane decide to exact hilarious revenge by turning to a life of crime in order to get their life back. Quick one-liners and sight gags are plenty and Téa Leoni does a great job, off-setting Carrey's craziness with amusing sarcasm. Worth a one time watch at the very least!!
