Two wives, Maggie (Jenna Fischer) and Grace(Christina Applegate) get fed up with their husbands Rick(Owen Wilson) and Fred(Jason Sudeikies) constantly leering at other women, and behaving as though they miss the single life and sleeping with other women. So in hopes to save their marriage, they both give their husbands a hall pass meaning a week free from marriage where they are free to sow their wild oats guilt free no questions asked. The boys are instantly excited and embrace the idea except they find that it isn't as easy as they remember getting laid when they hit of all the places, Applebee's to try and locate women and satisfy all their sexual fantasies.
The ladies, on the other hand, go Maggie's father's summer home for the week and being spouse free themselves find that male attention is quite easy to come by as they play volley ball and shoot beer with a visiting Minor League baseball team.
Hall Pass takes a dig at married lives by introducing the titular concept of getting a mutually agreed upon break from marriage to do anything you please with whomever you please but the truth is that it works both ways as well and the guys can’t handle that!
