If you liked the original TV series then you are already familiar here with the plot of this movie: Arkansas bumpkin Jed Clampett strikes oil on his own land while shooting jackrabbits for dinner. He becomes a billionaire and heads out for the lifestyle that he can now afford in Beverly Hills. Of course there is Rob Schneider as an evil bank assistant and girlfriend Lea Thompson who wants to take the riches for themselves and plan to swindle the Clampetts out of it all. Cloris Leachmen makes a great Granny but the bright spot of the movie was Lily Tomlin as Miss Jane Hathaway and Diedrich Bader was hysterical as Jethro Bodine. It may be predictable but there are lots of funny moments here. Look out for cameos of Zsa Zsa Gabor, Miguel Ferrer, Dolly Parton and Buddy Ebsen as Rockford.
