“I love it when they beg!”

A smart and ambitious rookie cop Nicholas Styles (Denzel Washington) launches his career and rises all the way to Assistant District Attorney after he captures a vicious and cunning psycho Earl Talbot Blake (a riveting John Lithgow) on live TV and puts him away. Seven years past while Blake plots and plans before deciding to escape from said prison so he can exact a harsh and clever revenge on Styles (instead of simply killing him, which would have been a lot easier). The ensuing tension begins to drive Nick mad, as Blake mounts evidence to ruin not only Nicks' career and freedom but his family as well. Denzel Washington gives a solid performance and Ice-T has some very nice moments as well. This movie belongs, however, to John Lithgow who is deliciously evil.
