Turtles Can Fly ( Lakposhtha parvaz mikonand )

Simply wonderful

This was such a moving and wonderful (albeit also sad) movie, beyond any expectations i had before seeing it. The children were a very young and natural bunch, the acting felt very real and close to what reality is like. Some gorgeous shots, cinematography and a great story. One of the finest movies i've seen in the last few years, easily surpassing many other overhyped festival and academy winners from the "west". It's a shame most people never will get the opportunity or will to see this, just because its a Kurdish/Iraqi/Iranian movie. Movies like these deserve to be shown widely and be offered among the usual popcorn production. They are in no way inferior to any bigger productions from the major cinematical countries.
