Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

Frankenstein ala Branagh/De Niro

Not scary to me, but closer to the book. Branagh's Victor was a bit much, running around bare chested with mini lion mane flying. The humanizing of the creature enabled the story to play more to the values of Mary Shelley's book and her era. Karloff's version evokes pity because of his amazing face acting, but the use of words by the creature a la De Niro was more touching to me. Worth watching, but somehow felt flat to me.
