Before I get into Abduction let me go over the plot. Nathan Harper (Taylor Lautner) discovers his parents are not really his parents. When men come and murder his parents, he must escape men trying to kill him and discover who his real parents are and why all this is happening. Nathan is targeted by a team of trained killers, forcing him on the run with the only person he can trust. This would be his neighbor, Karen (Lily Collins). There's not even a real reason for Karen to go on the run with him. I guess they just wanted Taylor Lautner to have a girl with him.

This is an action movie, but the fight scenes are so bad and laughable that it sort of tuns into an action comedy. The chase scenes were equally bad. It all feels staged. You just never get into the action, and that's really bad because this is an action movie. Even if a action movie isn't perfect, it still can have really good action scenes to help people at least be semi entertained while watching. This is not the case with Abduction.

Now for the script. I mean wow. The script is atrocious. It was hard to listen most of the time because the dialog was just so bad. If you thought the acting would at least be good, you were wrong. Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Maria Bello are just wasted in their supporting roles. They play undeveloped characters with not that much screen time. When they do speak though, the script was so bad that we didn't want to hear them. What are they even doing in this movie, they can all do way better than this.

The two leads fail as well. What can I say about Lilly Collins, she just doesn't seem to be acting. Taylor Lautner just can't carry a movie yet. I also didn't buy him as an action hero. Wen you look at great action stars like Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford, Taylor Lautner just does not fill the bill as an action star. He is out of his league here. Overall he just gave a wooden and lifeless performance. John Singleton has never been the best director out there, but he has never made anything this bad.

The name of the movie is misleading. Abduction, who gets abducted again? No one ever gets abducted in Abduction. So whats with that name? I certainly don't have the slightest idea. I can't thing of one positive thing to say about this movie. How can I when nothing works. The script, acting, direction, action scenes, cinematography, and story are all awful. This is one of the worst movies of 2011. It is painful to sit through. Avoid seeing Abduction at all costs.
