First of all you should know before you watch this movie is that this is made like a miniseries in 3 parts. Because of that the pace is a little different than a regular movie. It’s written by Stephen King so it almost goes without saying that the story and the script are very good.

Professor Joyce Reardon played by Nancy Travis gathers a group of psychics and brings them to an old mansion called Rose Red. She hopes that the psychics will pick up the energy in the house and unlock the secrets of the house. In classic Stephen King style it doesn’t take long before strange things start to happen.

What fascinates me about this movie is the story. Because of the miniseries approach you don’t get the same pace that you would get in a regular movie, but I like the way it’s executed. It doesn’t really matter to me that the movie is pg13, it’s still a very good movie because the worst things that happen are left to your imagination, and if you let yourself get involved in the story it’s very easy to imagine what happens. That is why this movie gets a lot scarier for an adult than for a child as we got a much darker take on the world and most likely imagine way worse things that are being done where we are left to fill in the blanks. That being said I would not let a child watch this movie pg13 or not because this movie is scary. It grows on you the longer you see and there are quite a few chillers in here.

This is one of my favorite movies because of the story.
