Decided to pick this movie up after seeing it on the library shelf & reading the back & Im so glad I did.A great movie from the start to the very sad end

I saw this movie for the first time at a drive-in theatre. Had to be 1971. I watched it on TV every chance I got over the years. I never saw it to buy it and now it doesn't show on TV. One of the richest films I ever saw. It has hung with me through out all these decades. How many films can you say that about. Wonderful characters and a charming yet deep script. If you have never seen this movie you really are missing something. God bless Mr. Singer. A wonderful man.
