Transformers: Age of Extinction

Looks like it's a formula for the Bayformers. Well, it rakes in the money for them.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Last post on 08/04/14 at 05:03 PM CT by Chris Kavan

Was pleasantly surprised at how good this turned out - maybe not the best movie of the year, but I would say it's the most fun I've had at the movies all year.

FrackNation

A legitimate attempt to discredit "GASLAND" documentary but won't buy it ! By an extremely ultra long shot , the true  consequences of fracking are there before our very eyes and they are not good at all.Shale gas it is a very valuable source of energy no question about it but my life and health without forgetting the soil where I'm standing is worth preserve as healthy as possible , unless you live somewhere else and you don't care because you are counting your money. Planet earth …

Right?!? HTTYD2 was amazing, and super emotional

Godzilla (2014)

Last post on 06/04/14 at 04:14 PM CT by Looneymanthegreat

I had no Idea that Trank was rumored for the other SW spin-off.  People can be as skeptical as they want about remakes or reboots, but in the case of the upcoming Star Wars movies they've got some great promise behind the camera.  Godzilla showed that Edwards could do more then small budget thrillers, and I expect that Trank has potential in that same area.

They Came Together

Last post on 05/06/14 at 07:45 PM CT by Chris Kavan

I haven't decided if this "fake" corny romantic comedy is going to be the greatest thing ever or simply terrible - but I thoroughly enjoyed Wet Hot American Summer - so it has a chance.

Slaughterhouse-Five

Billie is a childs name, and Billie Pilgrim acts like one. A sci fi comedy that goes to make you  remember Fry's Futurama. Or, think about the red coat...And perhaps, Solyaris.

Pan's Labyrinth ( laberinto del fauno, El )

Last post on 04/10/14 at 10:18 PM CT by mpol

Pan's Labyrinth is a very well-done film, but it's definitely not a kids' movie, nor is it for the faint of heart.  I wouldn't take kids to see Pan's Labyrinth.  It's too intense for kids, as many other movies are.

Ted

I actually thought the movie was hilarious. It was not the best movie I have ever seen, but watching the movie did make my night. Maybe this is because I also enjoy watching family guy, so the humor and jokes are familiar for me.

Gravity

Last post on 04/10/14 at 03:25 AM CT by Sabrina

I must say normally I am not a big fan of that all movies have to be 3d lately. But with Gravity it was different. The effects where amazing and Sandra Bullock her acting completely sucked me into the movie. I cannot wait to see it again.

Muscle Shoals

300: Rise of an Empire

big fan of Eva , one thing in common the critics seem to be agreed on is that she is fantastic in this movie. looking forward to seeing it,no matter how it does she should get some good roles from 300.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa

Last post on 02/17/14 at 11:24 AM CT by Goombs

I had high expectations going this movie. I grew up with Jackass on MTV and must admit I still have an immature side which enjoys fart jokes and scat humor. This flick had a few moments of pretty funny gags that seemingly come out of no where (i.e. the element of surprise). The golf fish, the folding bed and the explosive diarrhea are the funniest parts of the movie the rest was just filler. Knoxville should leave the inter-spliced reality- scripited type movies to Sacha Baron …

The Town (2010)

Last post on 02/17/14 at 09:57 AM CT by mpol

I feel that The Town had the potential for being a very good, or even a great movie right up there with West Side Story, but it fell woefully short of that potential, due to a mediocre cast, an immature script, an ending that fell flat, and the persistence of stereotypes, as well as many over-the-top shoot-out scenes.  I also dislike the message that The Town conveys to me personally;  that people don't have to be held accountable for what they do, and that anything goes.

The Human Race

Last post on 02/11/14 at 09:17 PM CT by Chris Kavan

I mainly have this on my radar because the premise reminds me a lot of the Stephen King novel "The Long Walk". Hopefully it's more of a homage than a ripoff - I'll keep my eye out for this one.

The Revenant (2009)

Wall, The ( Wand, Die )

Last post on 01/21/14 at 09:28 PM CT by Juan

This film is Kafka no matter how you look at it well rendered very low budget and yet very creative visually as well the use of sound or none to isolate or switch mind and real or whatever is time and space within the mind the film can be tiring and slow but so is the mind when reasons.

Grandmaster, The ( Yi dai zong shi )

Last post on 01/21/14 at 09:12 PM CT by Juan

This is a very well made film with a different take at martial arts films , the photography is top notch the acting is excellent great director the atmosphere is highly stylized perhaps too much and still is an action film pack with fast actions and cutting .

Knights of Badassdom

Last post on 01/05/14 at 03:30 AM CT by Azerafel

That's good news - I feel like I've been waiting for this movie for the better part of half my life.  I would be stoked for a 2014 release.  And I'm with you on hoping for the best; it's sounded so awesome from the moment I heard of it that if it turns out decidedly less so it would be a major disappointment.

50 to 1

Am hoping that this indie film gets some wide distribution.  I  love movies about underdogs.  The cast looks to be excellent with one of my favorite actors, Christian Kane appearing in it.

Nebraska

Last post on 11/19/13 at 08:10 PM CT by Su Zany

This is a pre-discussion.I haven't seen this movie - but it's not because I don't want to. In fact, I spent several hours tracking all of the possible places it was playing. I live in Wisconsin. The closest theater I found was Omaha, Nebraska. Why do I want to see this movie? Because it is one of the few movies where my husband and I meet. We've enjoyed Fahrenheit 9/11, Life Is Beautiful and GasLand together. He likes slapstick, humour, animation. We both like science fiction but never the …

Saving Mr. Banks

If you are planning on seeing this movie I highly recommend watching The Sherman Brothers first. It is a great documentary and the the Sherman brothers will play a role in this movie.

So This is Christmas

I've seen A, B, C and even some D-list movies. But this one is a definite F. Can they even call them actors and directors if neither happened? Seriously, don't waste your time.
