Soon there'll finally be a Blue-ray and 3-D version of the hilarious 'Jackboots on Whitehall' available! Beside the better Blue-ray quality the three-dimensional version definitely enhances the film fun when watching the animatronic puppet technique.
Except more joy in matters of visual effects, the movie itself lives from its hair-raising plot about nazi (mostly campy, gay and toyboy hunting) Germans who try to invade Great Britain as well as from each and every figure appearing: from Chris, 'the hero' who comes from the British countryside, has very big hands and turns out to be England's last hope, through Bobby Fiske, the movie's only American who firmly believes he's fighting the communist threat, to Adolf Hitler, the German nazi leader who loves to spend his time in Marie-Antoinette's dressing room... Enjoy a great action-comedy-puppet-movi e about an alternate II WW full of war film stereotypes and spoofing elements such as the parody of 'Team America'. On thing's for sure: You'll burst in tears – of laughter.
